1. What is your treatment philosophy?
We believe that just as no two people are alike there can not be a set treatment philosophy. Each patient is treated as an individual and therefore has their own treatment plan.
2. How do you sterilize?
All instruments are heat sterilized. Our office uses the Dentronix dry heat sterilization for orthodontic instruments and Kavoclave steam sterilization for Dental handpieces. All instruments are cleaned and sterilized after each use. Disposable products are used when available. 3. Do you reuse orthodontic appliances?
Although the Florida Dental Board allows the recycling of Orthodontic appliances this office does not believe in this practice. All used orthodontic appliances are discarded. Each patient receives new appliances when started.
4. What do you think about two phase treatment?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an examination by the age of seven. This does not imply that every child should start treatment at this age. Most cases can be treated in 2 - 2 1/2 years in one phase if started just before the last primary tooth is lost. In fact, recent studies at the University's of Florida and North Carolina found that patients treated in two-phases had no better result. They did however have a much greater length of time in treatment and significantly greater cost. 5. Are there any indications for early treatment?
Yes, there are exceptions to the above rules: Underbites, crossbites and impacted teeth are some of the indications for early treatment.
6. What are your financial policies?
We accept most insurances. Payment plans are available. There is a comprehensive fee with no hidden costs. Except in the case of severe abuse we do not charge for broken braces, or missed appointments. |
